The Center of Studies on Migrations and Intercultural Relations (CEMRI) is a scientific research and development unit, accredited by FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia), the Portuguese national funding agency for science, research and technology and has Unviversidade Aberta (UAb) as a host institution.
CEMRI’s main mission is to develop interdisciplinary research and advanced training in the area of Migration and Intercultural Relations in a national and international context.
It currently has 54 integrated researchers distributed across 5 main research areas, involving the study of migrations and intercultural relations, namely: Migration and Cultural Diversity; Intercultural Communication; Health, Culture and Development; Media and Cultural Mediations; Studies on Women – Gender, Society and Culture.
