The extension of the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of the 20th Century (CEIS20) of the University of Coimbra works in the premises of the Porto Regional Delegation of Universidade Aberta and its main objective is to study and produce knowledge about Education in its multiple aspects and in varied contexts, taking into account to publics located in the field in question, with a view to contributing to the increase of knowledge in this area.

Furthermore, the objectives of this extension are: to promote research excellence and increase its competitiveness at a local, regional and global scale through the establishment of synergies between researchers and institutions; to promote the training and scientific updating of technical and research personnel, thus contributing to the respective human and professional development and to promote advanced training through shared programmes.
