The Pole of CIBIT – Coimbra Institute for Biomedical Imaging and Translational Research’s main mission is to promote fundamental and applied research in the scientific and disciplinary areas of Applied Mathematics to medical imaging, in its various aspects, giving special emphasis to the research lines of mathematical modeling and numerical resolution of medical image acquisition, statistical modeling and data science, time series analysis, automatic image processing and classification, mathematical models for pattern recognition and establishment of biomarkers in images.
