The Universidade Aberta of Portugal (UAb) was invited to participate in the organization of the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC-Brazil) program Alfabetização Baseda na Ciência – ABC (Science-based Literacy), in collaboration with the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES).

The program, which began last January 11, takes place online and involves about 40,000 educators from the preschool to the second year of elementary school.

The initiative is part of the school literacy program promoted by MEC-Brazil and has the collaboration of other Portuguese higher education institutions such as the University of Porto and the Polytechnic Institute of Porto.

In this partnership, UAb has been responsible for the video lessons production, including the introduction of subtitles for the Brazilian Portuguese.
