In 2008 Universidade Aberta created the Accessibilities Project to support students with special educative needs. The project aims at promoting the  inclusion and collaboration between current and former students with physical and sensorial difficulties accessing Universade Aberta’s online degrees.

As all degrees are taught fully online, this University has been chosen by many citizens with special educative needs to proceed with their studies.

Currently, Universidade Aberta is proud to have a considerable number of students with special educative needs enrolled in its Bachelor, Masters and Phd degrees.
